HI EVERYONE!!

I'm amazed with myself that this is one night where I have nothing to do (that's not really true, I do have things to do but I choose to xanga over all else)  Now everyone can stop bugging me about updating my xanga or sending an email.

I've been quite busy with my life the past couple of months, with Christmas and New Year's.  In addition, I have changed jobs - yet again.. I know I know.. but my contract with the government department that I was in was coming up in March and I didn't really find that job as challenging or as accounting related as I'd like it to be.  I want real accounting experience - the Melissa, Solar 6 accounting experience so I took a pay cut and went to work for a small private accounting firm that is ATO (approved training office) for the CA designation.  I'm currently enrolled in CGA (for those who don't know what it is, google and you shall know) but I've been thinking about switching to the CA simply because it is more widely recognized and people seem to think it's more reputable than a CGA, which isn't to say that CGA's are less reputable but somehow, for some reason or another, CAs just seems to get more pay and more recognition.  So off I go... starting my 3 years of torturous journey into this designation.  I'm not 100% sure I'll be going through with it.  I told myself to give the work at least 3 to 6 months before I decide jumping from one designation to another.  I'm in my second week at my new job now and I have to say that time flies by much faster than it did when I was working at the old job.  Needless to say, we all want to work in a job where time flies and it's home time before you know it!  Furthermore, I will also have the opportunity to travel up north to where the Eskimos and the igloos are.. hehe... where I would be getting about 4 hours of daylight in the first week of March!  It's not a place I would visit in terms of vacation but having the opportunity to travel for work is great!  At least I can say that I've been there, done that, type of thing.  So this, and my part time job and my night class have occupied much of my time.

The other "spare" time I have, I usually try and spend it with my god-daughter Ella and her parents.  I have to visit Ella at least once a week, otherwise it feels like something's missing - and that was certainly the case last week and the week before.  I didn't get to see Ella for 2 whole weeks!  It certainly was a pleasure to hold my baby Ella in my arms last Saturday, even though she was grumpy and fussy.  She's my little darling and I love her to death!  I'll post some pics up when I have more time to sort - I should probably take some updated pics since most of the ones I have are her newborn pics.  She'll be 4 months this Friday so she's a growing angel =)

Other than that, nothing much has happened.  Oh... I went to watch David Copperfield - man.. he's pretty cute!!!  He did some pretty awesome trick.  Sorry Maggie, I didn't get picked from the audience - if I did, I would have asked him to send me and the other single solars a man each hahaha... and a rich one at that but I was outta luck :P  maybe next time ;)

I MIGHT be heading to Asia in July for 2 to 3 weeks.  My grandma will be going back to Taiwan in a couple of weeks and won't be returning until July so my mom and I were planning on travelling there and then bringing grandma back home with us.  Sadly to say, I don't think HK is in our itinerary.  Mom's thinking of going to Malaysia, Brunei (where I was born), Singapore and probably Japan.  We wanted to go to China too but I don't think we can fit it in - otherwise it'll just be too exhausting for us..well, for me anyways haha... I really wanted to go to China, specifically Shanghai - thinking about working there for a year or two after I get my designation but Singapore will do too ;)  I want some YUMMY YUMMY!! haha.. Maybe I can see Terry there :P

That's all for now - this is so long it's boring but now Sukhie won't prod me to update my Xanga now, will she? ;)

Happy Belated Birthday to Maggie and a Happy Early Birthday to Erica!!
